Linda Taylor - The Vintage Bookbinder

Local artist, Linda Taylor creates unique handbound books, bags and gifts using genuine vintage fabrics dating from the 1940s to the 1970s.

Inspired by the quality, character and history of these often-forgotten fabrics, Linda makes small batches of carefully crafted items to give them a new lease of life. Linda transforms these rare textiles, once tucked away in cupboards, into beautiful, practical pieces designed to be treasured and used for years to come.

Bayeux - An O Hanlon Screen Print

This genuine 1950s vintage cotton barkcloth is screen printed with a stylised version of some of the most famous scenes from the Bayeux Tapestry.

The fabric was manufactured in the early 1950s by William O'Hanlon & Co. who were based in Manchester, the historic heart of the UK textile industry. O'Hanlon were well known for historical novelty prints and 'Bayeux' is now highly sought after by collectors.  Due to the scarcity of this fabric the products are made in small limited-edition batches.
